Course Descriptions
All classes are All-Level and we welcome every shape, size, and current ability level.
If you have a mat that you love to practice on you are welcome to bring it, however we have all of the equipment necessary for classes and are happy to loan them to you free-of-charge.
We are all growing, that’s why it’s called a “practice.”
Fundamental Practice
This is generally a slower paced class focusing on foundation, posture, alignment, and breath. While these classes are great for beginners and an ideal entry point to the practice, they still offer much value for the advanced yogi as well. In this style we will hold poses longer than we might in other classes, creating a burn and building strength and endurance to one day get us into those crazy Instagram poses!
Power Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa is considered to be one of the most athletic styles of yoga. Poses will still be held for multiple breaths at times but this style includes more flow and movement between, causing the body to warm and work! We will also approach some more advanced poses and inversions, keeping an element of challenge in our practice. If you’re wanting to sweat and get your heart rate up, this is the class for you.
Candlelight Calm-down
This class is all about letting go. It is, as the title suggests, done by candlelight and we stay on the ground most of the time - usually seated, on our belly, or on our back. We will begin with some gentle stretching, eventually moving into more restorative poses, using many props and welcoming gravity to hug us into passive shapes. This relaxed class can be a meditative yoga practice that helps to find peace and cleanse the mind of lingering thoughts. We focus on body connection and awareness, flexibility, insomnia, and stress.
Weekend Stretch and Move
Much like the weekday Fundamental Practice classes, this is an all-levels movement class that provides an opportunity for us to start our weekend mornings well. We will explore gentle flows and sequences, strengthening postures, and full-body stretching - you may even be treated to a guided meditation or mindfulness exercise.
